Needle Felted Cell Phone Cozy

Here's a cozy case for a cell phone that i needle felted.

Needle Felting

I've been obsessed with needle felting for the past year. It basically consists of stabbing raw wool (roving) with a special felting needle. You can form the felt into any kind of creature or thing you want. This is a pincushion I made with needle felting.

Change a comin'

They've just called the election for Obama and he has made his victory speech to the crowds in Grant Park in Chicago and the rest of the country. Something really special has happened today...it reminds me of when John F. Kennedy became president. He had the people behind him and inspired the youth of America. We elected Obama because of his ideals and what he stands for and not just the color of his skin. The world is also celebrating with us on this new day for the country. People are dancing in the streets in Seattle tonight because change is a comin'...

Yeah for America!

Sign of the times

Wandering in Chicago

Old water tower.
This was a crazy tea bag art installation at Robin Richman.
The Chicago Theatre
Many different eras and building types are represented downtown.

Pictures from Chicago

Mary looking at Robin Richman's store on Damen Avenue.

I was in Chicago visiting my friend Mary who is a great photographer. We went to Robin Richman's store on Damen Avenue which is always inspiring. The salesgirl was helpful and fashion forward and had outstanding tattoos. Saw another interesting show in the former Carson Pirie Scott Building. An entire floor was filled with old display cases...different artists took over some of them and filled them with everything from old vintage fabrics to test tubes and post-it notes... It was very cool. I love Chicago.
