Happy Summer Solstice!

Here is how I spent the summer solstice...In the Fremont Solstice Parade. It is truly one of the highlights of the summer in Seattle. People wear body paint and ride bikes, others are in colorful and imaginative costumes. It is a creative event I participate in every year. The Solstice Parade is one of the reasons I'm glad I live in Seattle.

The May Queen is chosen!

Simon and Macque made it all happen.

Sunday was May Day and the Fremont Arts Council had their annual celebration with the community. There was a Green Man who selected his May Queen from available maidens. There was frolicking and dancing, there were ribbons and children and gunny sack races and flowers in hair. It was delightful and the weather cooperated with a warm sunny day. Here are some photos.
