Vintage fashion in Portland

I'm still high from my trip to Portland. So many inspiring shops and sights were seen. They have great vintage stores. Here are some photos.

Cargo - the most amazing store in Portland

I took a trip to the Rose City (portland, or) last week. I visited some of my favorite stores and discovered some new ones. Cargo, in the Pearl District is a must see on every trip. It's like walking into 100 foreign countries at once.

I'm just back from an artist's date to Portland. It was just an overnight, I stayed at the youth hostel in the NW neighborhood, otherwise known as "Nob Hill". I like it because its a ten minute walk to the Pearl District downtown. Easy access to Powell's world of books and one of my favorite stores, Cargo. After spending the morning in the Pearl, buying a new book on felting by Sheila Smith and having an excellent reuben sandwich at Kenny and Zukes, I drove over to explore the Alberta Street neighorhood. From there I went to Mississippi Street which was my favorite part of the day. See a few pictures here...more to come.

Portland is inspiring!

Fun with Lipstick

Speaking of the Museum of Contemporary Craft, they have a great exhibit on right now called Manufacture: the Conspicuous Transformation of Everyday Objects . This piece by Livia Marin was a favorite.

A Trip to Portland

I just got home from three fun-filled nights and days in Portland. It's such a vibrant and interesting town in which to wander. Here's some of what I saw: a horse of a different color, a clown who knows my friend kelly,
bike racks at Powell's Books with quotations on them, a rose garden, the Bagdad cafe and the youth hostel in the NW neighborhood where I stayed. The hostel hasprivate rooms which are cheap and comfortable as well as dorm rooms and a communal kitchen where you can cook to save money on meals. It's an easy walk to the Pearl district from their location on no 18th and Glisan.
