A drawing a day
I'm back into the practice of making a drawing a day as a way to expand my illustration portfolio and to get into the practice of picking up pen and paper. Here is today's drawing.

Making metal houses
I just finished up another metals class. I ended up with the theme of houses and home. Here are a few things from the studio today. I'll be selling them in my etsy store. http://www.etsy.com/shop/artnestbydiane

I love texturing metal
I started taking metalsmithing classes in 1997. I continue to take classes and I love texturing metal. Here are some examples of recent projects using foldforming, rollerprinting and etching techiniques. Many of these are available for sale in my etsy shop.

Happy Summer Solstice!
Here is how I spent the summer solstice...In the Fremont Solstice Parade. It is truly one of the highlights of the summer in Seattle. People wear body paint and ride bikes, others are in colorful and imaginative costumes. It is a creative event I participate in every year. The Solstice Parade is one of the reasons I'm glad I live in Seattle.

10 x10 x10 and Might Tieton
I've just finished submitting two pieces to the 10 x10 x10 art show at Mighty Tieton near Yakima.
To qualify, each piece can be no larger that 10 inches in any dimension. I submitted two of the handmade books I made last summer at Penland in Laura Wait's class.
Here are some photos.
