Plastic and Light at the Museum of Glass
I went down to the Museum of Glass in Tacoma today to hang out with Barbara DePirro who is an artist in residence there this month and next. She's doing cool things with used plastic milk cartons and other everyday things we discard.
This picture was just rolled up paper against the neat orange wall they have in the studio at the museum.
Barbara's website is here: http://www.depirro.com
She is taking recycled art to a new level. She also crochets baskets and purses from recycled plastic trashbags.

Stencil Love
Here's a little reminder that Valentines Day is coming up. Be sweet to your TV-head. (These stencils were seen around the South Lake Union neighborhood last year. They've since been painted over.)

The Museum of Kitschy Stitches
It's a book and a blog and is so fabulous: The Museum of Kitschy Stitches: A gallery of Notorious Knits by Stitchy McYarnPants. This is the kind of stuff people used to knit and crochet when I was learning to knit. No wonder I wasn't excited about it...The yarns available back then were not very interesting...no wonder there has been a renaissance of knitting and crochet...the patterns and yarns are so much fun now. I enjoy making things with my hands, especially after working at a computer all day.

A trip to the Vet
Delilah has had some tummy troubles so we went to the vet today. I love Rainier Animal Hospital and Dr. Heino...the best vet in Seattle in my opinion.
His and Hers Fire Hydrants
I love to read Pet Names on the sign in sheet.
Cool Dog and Cat mural in the office. Does anyone know who painted it?
Christmas Cards from some of Dr. Heino's patients.
